I've used the jingle bells for 5 years now, and never had a problem with them getting their nails stuck. I never even thought of that problem. Chloe' uses her nose/head to ring the bell.

I guess it depends on how they ring the bell.

The cow type bells would be great...but we don't have them around here.

I think any bell would work as long as you teach them how to ring it.........
