Yes, IMO it is very nessasary...Do they not go outside to play, walk, or potty? Even if the don't go outside a infested bug might get in your house from an opening in a window or an opened door. I try to do what I can to prevent anything that CAN be prevented, and this is one thing that can be prevented!
