I got an 80 gb for Christmas the year before last. It's great and I still haven't filled it up. My 2 boys have the 8gb from 2 years ago as well. We were going to upgrade our oldest for his b-day to a new Nano so he could watch movies and such but he ended up talking us into a touch. I like the fact that if there is free wi-fi somewhere you can just log on. Watch youtube and surf the web. I think for you an 8 or 16 should suffice. You start out not thinking you will put a lot in it and then all the memories of old songs hit and then you go overboard. I know that is what my son did with his first one. He was so mad he couldn't decide what to put in it. So the touch is of course is the one with the most storage.
