Yorkies are a BREEZE to travel with--we have ours with us alll of the time. Check with the train and see if they allow small animals. Then you would just need a dog carrier for her. If you get one that looks like a purse, it gives you a little flexibility to sneak the puppy into a restaurant or something while traveling.

A few members have had their yorkies certified as a service animal--guess it is super easy to do--just google it or search for it here and then the dog can pretty much go ANYWHERE. I think since it is a companion to an elderly person, you might have some grounds to say it is a service animal. If you need more--holler
