Travel Advice Hi..I desperately need some input...I have spent most of the day on the telephone and feel like I am slamming my head into a wall. I was informed that my mother, my grandaughter and myself will be traveling to Chicago next June to move my grandmother out to California. She is living in an assisted living situation that will be closing down by mid June and the owners are not recommending any place to for her to go other than out here to be with her family. No one in our family is big on flying so we will reserve a room on a train and go there. Where I am running into a problem is that she has an 8 year old yorkie that is her "mental" support (she takes pristine care of the dog) and it seems to keep her calm and motivated. The dog is litter box trained and traveled with her everywhere until lately. My grandmother flat out refuses to go near an airport so the idea of flying her back with the rest of the family isn't going to work. (I'd have 4 people plus myself sick with the stress). I am afraid to leave the dog (adopted out) plus the owner of the home told me the dog was the best thing that happened to my grandmother. Does anyone know if you can travel with a litter box trained yorkie on the train? Or has anyone got any ideas at all....I am soooo stuck...I still have some time but time is going to pass fast. Thanks! |
