yes that would def happen with the japanese straightener...i've seen some ppl where half their hair is super straight and then the top half is all curly. My natural hair is wavy with frizz so you cant really tell on mine but it has grown a lot, and its been a year but what i do so far is i just blowdry my bangs and the front and let the rest air dry and it looks good that way. I also curl it a lot with the curling iron, but just soft, wavy curls.
