I got Dixie in Dec of 2007 from the same breeder as Pixie. She was 6 months old and seemed fine, I noticed when she peed it was clear and had no odor. she acted fine. I had her checked out just because I thought it was odd. Well she had congenital kidney failure, her kidney's were very underdeveloped. My vet said nothing they could do, but I took her to a nephrologist that said he had treated many dogs and yorkies with very little kidney function and they were doing ok. So we did all the testing, started her on 3 of 6 meds she would need to be on and she got so sick we had to put her down. I had her only a short 5 weeks. The breeder was great and felt as bad as I did and gave me Roxie when I was ready. The nephrologist said it was a fluke and not genetic just like many birth defects, it just happens. All the others in her litter were fine. So hopefully your baby will be fine.
