I think it depends on their eating habits too. I try to have "quiet time" with Stella for an hour or so before bed so that she calms down and isn't playing/drinking a lot so that we can make it a little longer through the night. She is 5 1/2 months old now and, I know she prefers pottying outside to her puppy pad. She'll make it from about 11/12 at night 'til about 6:30, at which point she'll start whining. If I don't wake up, she'll use her puppy pad, but if I do wake up, it's a scramble to get her harness & leash on and run outside. Hope that helps!
