It could be an insect bite. We are going through this right now with Baxter. He started with small bumps under his arms and chest area. They developed scabs and then pus. The vet gave him a sterioid shot, some spray and anti-biotics. The vet thinks a bug bite caused a staph infection when he scratched it.
I would just keep an eye on your baby. Hopefully it will go away in a few days and that will be the end of it. If you see more bumps or if they look infected, I would take him in to the vet.
