They charge that much because people will pay the price. I'm sorry but to me... maybe I am just old school but I would have a problem paying for what I know as a "mutt". I too, think they are adorable but wouldn't pay for one. I grew up knowing that if you want a purebred you pay, if you just want a mixed dog... they are usually free. I know times are changing but I don't know if I could convince myself to pay.. besides, to me.. I think it is a shame to breed outside the breed. Maltese should be bred with Maltese, Yorkies with yorkies. JMO...
