We use ear cleaner/drying solution (Chlorhexiderm Flush) here because Ellie is so prone to yeast infections and I don't pluck ear hair often. I try to do it after every bath at the least. It is chemical but it is better than what you have to use to treat an infection.
Cotton balls are okay if you don't want to use q-tips. I personally can't stand using them because you are just getting the very surface. A lot of vets will tell you not to use q-tips, so it is important to find out if it's okay with Layla's vet. I do use q-tips but there is a certain way you have to hold the ear back so it doesn't go down too deep. |
