Been here. I found Marcel (when he was about 1.5 yrs) w/ a steel wool pad once - and he had clearly gotten a bit of it. He immed. went into having mushy, grainy, weird poo. Went to the vet, and she recommended we wait and watch. Well, it took a good 3wks-1mth for his stool to return to normal, but it truly did. Of course, he only ingested a small bit of the steel wool sponge, for whatever that's worth.
