Default Litter Training

Hi! My yorkie is completely litter trained, but he prefers to go outside in the grass. At least he knows he has a 'safe' place to go if I don't get home from work in time.
Please do ensure that if you do litter train, DO NOT use regular clumping cat litter. If they do eat the poop, etc, it will clump in their stomachs and eventually (gasp) they will not be able to get it out.
I use either the newspaper litter, or the litter made from cedar (which has a wonderful smell). When this stuff gets wet, it goes from its compact pressed shape to sortof dust....Scooping it is interesting, since the dust (and poo) is what you want to get out of the pan. Also, for the litter box, I am using one of those under the bed (so its not too tall) plastic storage bins. I've heard doggie litter boxes need to be bigger than cat ones, since often they like to 'walk around' a bit before going #2, and these storage containers are perfect (just don't need the lid).
...hope this helps a little...
