I found out today that my new puppy has ringworm. I have two small kids - ages 5&7 - that I do not want to have to worry about for over a month. The place I got him has offered to keep and treat him and give him back when he is no longer contageous, or take the puppy back and give me a new one (I cant bear to do that though). My questions are:
1 - how long does it typically take to treat?
2 - what are the long term effects?
3 - How might his disposition change if he is quarantined at this puppy place for a month?
I am trying to do the right thing here, but my kids have to come first right now. They are devestated that they canot hold or play with their new puppy. It has been an awful awful day
