My vet called & informed me that both girls have kidney problems, why because of the liver treats which are 67% protein and bully sticks that are also high on protein. I’m also wondering if eggs are too high on protein if given everyday. I can’t believe I’ve done this. The food they are on is Acana 33% protein. I took them off Wellness, which is 36%. Will they need to be put on special food and can the kidney be repaired if looked after probably. I took a pee sample in this morning and will find out Monday how severe it is. I can’t believe how stupid I am, I’ve read that too high of protein can cause damage. Also I’ve discovered that I’ve been giving too much Grizzly Salmon oil which is 99.99% fat. So I’m fatting up both girls who is having a hard time when we walk they both are hyperventilating and won’t walk as long as they use to, or is it related to the kidney problems. We are on a whole new diet, well I’ll have to find out what I shld do. So be careful on the protein factors. Chelsea is 2 ½ years and DaisiMae is 1 ½ years old.
