I free feed my dogs, however I still offer canned food sometimes twice a day depending on how much dry that they have eaten. I agree they have small stomachs and need to eat often. Puppies under 6 months of age, NEED to be fed at least 3 times day and I do believe your pup still falls in that catergory. If it is too much of an inconvience to feed your pup more than once a day (because of work or whatever) then I suggest you free feed so you know that he is getting all he needs.
