I think the treat idea is a great one. Sometimes Bella does that where she just sits and won't move forward on our walks (she usually loves walking in the neighborhood, but on occasion she's stubborn). I always carry treats on walks to reward her when she potties. She knows the command "touch" where I hold my fist out and she comes and touches it with her nose. So I use that a couple times to get her moving and then she just gets into the walk and I don't have any more trouble. Bella looks forward to a walks as a time when she will get treats cause she know I always carry them- I also treat or praise her for sitting by me when I stop.
