A couple of other things that I have heard are to put a really tasty treat in there when he doesn't see you doing it (maybe under his bedding or something). This way he sees being in the crate as a good thing. Also leave the door open so he can go in and out when you are home with him. Another thing is to feed him in the crate. Don't leave food in their or shut the door but just put his bowl in their when you feed him. After a while he will learn to love his crate.
