Ladies Ladies Ladies. Don't you know why it's so much in Ca. ? I wish they would do that more places. When is the last time you went to a shelter there? The shelters are so over populated in Southern California it's ridiculous. 3 to 8 dogs per kennel in most places. Most shelters in S. Ca. are not no kill shelters. If an owner turns in a dog over half of the time the shelter euths the dog immediately because they don't have the space for the dogs. It's only that much if your dog is unaltered, it's much less if altered. They are pushing spay and neuter this their way of trying to control the situation. I lived in Riverside County for 11 yrs, too many dogs when I first moved there. But when I left it was appalling to see all the dogs. Maybe you should take a drive to a few shelters, walk the isles , look into all those innocent eyes and then maybe you will have a different opinion on those fees. If you don't plan to breed you should have your pets altered. The shelters are full of accidents.
