Interestingly, yorkies (and other terriers) are more prone to ringworm - my Derm says it must be something in the genetic history that creates the vulnerability to this fungus.
My Marcel had it on his head in November - he caught it from his old vet, who had ringworm herself. The weird thing about canine ringworm is that there may not be a ring at all (like the obvious one in humans) - it may just be a patchy spot of hairloss, and sometimes some graying of the skin in that area. Marcel was treated w/ 6 weeks of oral Diflucan (compounded) and weekly anti-fungal baths (miconazole shampoo). Btw, if the skin turns gray, it can take quite a long time for that to resolve.
