Laura B. I hope your baby doesn't have ring worm!! If your kids use an antibacterial soap they should be fine. I'm pretty sure ring worm is caused by the same bacteria which causes athelete's foot.
if only happens in summer then my concern would be staph infection from itching-- does your dog itch alot in spring and summer from allergies? Bathing often is important in dogs with skin issues to keep the bacteria down on the skin
