I have 2 Yorkies who are all black and tan. The breeders who I got both of them from only breed with black and tan so even an adult Yorkie does not change to that silvery color. My dogs are also curly, which is very uncommon for Yorkies.

Is it fairly safe to say that if the mom and dad have no silvery blue then their kids won't either? Also, if one parent has blue and the other doesn't, is blue generally a recessive or a dominant gene?
