I don't think vinegar "removes" urine, but it does neutralize odors...I guess the steam cleaner would put down the steam (w/the vinegar in it) and then the steam cleaner would suck it up, so the urine residue would actually be in the cleaner and you dump it out... I agree that Nature's Miracle seems to be the best, although I just had my living room/dining room carpet taken up and had laminate put down (thanks to Ms. Apple)...I don't let Apple in the bedrooms, because I know she can't be trusted
