Mostly because they are getting a lot of complaints and most of those complaints are that they don't work. But there are complaints of reactions both minor and severe. With that said, I called my Vet as Sophie was due for her Frontline Plus just 2 days after I read this article. My Vet told me that Frontline will only guarantee product that was bought direct from a Vet or from their company. They will not stand behind the ones bought at other retailers (our pet stores are starting to carry it as is Costco). They claim there is a black market for this product and it's finding it's way into mainstream stores. Now, how much of this is fact, I don't know. So please take this with a grain of salt. However, I bought my last dosage at Costco and chose not to use it. The Vet did recommend that I call Frontline direct and give them the labeling (numbers) off the package and they would be able to determine if it was indeed from their mfg. plants or not. Again, please take this information for what it's worth as I do not intend to slander Frontline Plus or any of the other makers. I further asked my Vet if she felt it was safe to continue to use it based on the new information and she still supports it as long as I follow the guidelines set out by Frontline. |
We purchased our Frontline Plus directly from our Vet....and what do they mean guarantee? From what? A tick bite? Lyme? A bad reaction like Jake and how can we prove that? Ugh! I will just be happy when he is back to being himself....We do live in a high tick zone though but we also don't take them out much because of that....it's just so scary isn't it????
