 Thought he was a goner...
Last night I took Brodie outside and immediately he collapsed and stopped breathing. His tongue was sticking out of his mouth and was pale. I thought for sure he was dead. Hubby took him to the emergency animal clinic while giving him mouth to snout breaths in the car. They did blood tests and xrays on him with no real result. They think he went into some sort of anaphylactic shock. DH definitely saved his life but now I am scared this will happen again.
He stayed the night at the hospital and I have him home with me now...he seems normal other than just a little weak.
Has this happened to anyone elses yorkie? His blood work came back ok as did a glucose test. The vet did say he had an enlarged heart, but that wouldn't have had anything to do with the shock he went into. |
