Default peppermint oil and water to repel fleas...

Morning All!! I started this thread the other day and have the amount of oil to water ratio.....My Mom contacted a Holistic Vet and asked about a holistic pet shampoo that would help with fleas, mosquitoes, ticks and any other typed of biting insects. This vet told her NOT to go buy anything special....He told her to mix peppermint oil with water (in a spray bottle)....spray and towel then wipe it over the animal...under the neck, legs, belly...he said this will repel all that I mentioned above...We are going to Maine on Wednesday and taking the furgirls with us (of course!)..The mosquitoes there are HORRIBLE!! I am going to try this up in Maine...will let you all know how it works!

15 drops of peppermint oil
1 cup of water

put in a spray bottle, shake well and spray on a rag then wipe them down making sure to get their bellies and under legs...then the rest of the body...My Mom is in Maine and has been using this...Callie hasn't had 1 flea or tick on her and the mosquito bite her....we are all going up there tomorrow and staying until Saturday...I plan on trying it...(although the girls don't have fleas) it also repels other biting insects...As I said before...My Mom spoke with a holistic vet and this is what he told her to do...Seems to be working for her!! I say GO THE NATURAL ROUTE!! LEAVE THE CHEMICALS ALONE!!!
