We live in the country, so we always get mice in the winter. Chewy has caught a few, Sierra wouldn't touch the dirty things....she's too dainty. But my tomboy Chewy goes for them. I put traps in the cabinets where the girls can't get to. Chewy has caught a squirrel a few times too. She started eating on one squirrel before we could get to her.....she's fast. Anyway, she did get tapeworms. It was gross. But as soon as I found out she had it, I took her in to the vet, and I think it was just one shot she had to have and then it dies. UGH!
Also, I hate to tell you this, but when you see a mouse, there are probably a whole lot more that you haven't seen yet! Last winter, we got nine mice in a row, about 3 a day. Then a few weeks later, we got something like twelve or thirteen...we lost track! Yikes!
