This is sooo funny, my Brody use to love to do this. We had a big water bowl (I have 4 yorkies) and he would just come and either sit in the bowl or just dip his paws. Once I sat and looked at him and he looked like he was trying to fish out a small leaf that was in the bowl. Needless to say I was constantly cleaning out the water bowl and putting in fresh water for the others.
It was funny but the cleanup and drying him off got old really quickly. So I got them the raised bowls and that solved it. I don't think he was hot the temperature in my house is usually 70 degrees.
