Personally, I don't see why in certain circumstances children and small dogs shouldn't successfully mix if rules are set and followed. It's always been that what I say goes....no nonsense. Here's an example that nearly drove me nuts when I witnessed it. When I went into stores my children went into the cart and were strapped in and that is where they stayed. I was in a local store and a 1 yr. old child was running around pulling products off of shelves. The mother said he wouldn't stay in the cart so what was she to do. What did she mean that she couldn't keep a 1 yr. old in the cart? What sort of mind-set is that? My own children drive me nuts with what they allow their children to do when they've already said 'no.' but Nana keeps her mouths shut.
