Missy is waiting at the top of the stairs (there's a babygate there), once I'm up the stairs she back off and gives me my space. I put my purse down and all that, when I'm ready for her I call her over and she smothers me in kisses. This is the first dog that I've owned that doesn't totally bombard me when I get home. I like it
