If you can, setup a webcam. I also work 4 days at week and one day a week at home and when I am at work, I start the webcam. It gives me a little peace of mind. Most of the day Brandi, just sleeps. When I first starting leaving Brandi in her crate, she hated it. She paced back and forth all day until I got home. She was up all day trying to figure out a way to get out. Now she is use to it and sleeps most of the day.
I love that I can check on her. I check the webcam about once an hour for a few seconds or so, just to make sure everything is okay. If something was wrong, it would take me about 30 minutes to get home. The way I would know something is wrong is by the way she sleeps. She sleeps from 8 to about 10:30, then she gets up does a little barking, drinks a little water, plays a little bit, then back to sleep. She repeats this pattern throughout the day and every day she is in the crate. Any break in that pattern and I would be rushing home. |
