We welcomed a beautiful princess Yorkie into our home about 2 1/2 weeks ago. We started keeping her in her crate at night but she kept pooping in her crate at night. She would cry to let us know she had pooped, not before, but after she had pooped. We decided to go with the X-pen set up with an open crate and pee pee pads so she could go potty. That has worked with her only peeing and pooping on her pee pee pads at night.

Here's the problem. She whines and cries at least twice in the middle of the night. She is going potty on the pee pee pads but she is still whining and crying? Is she just wanting our attention? If so, should we just ignore her at night instead of going to her aid.

Last night, she started whining and crying around 4 AM. When we came to check on her, she had already pooped and peed on her pee pee pads. We cleaned up the poop and put down a new pee pee pad and put her back in her x-pen. She still whined and cried for over 30 minutes. She finally went back to sleep close to 5 AM and was back up at 7 for no apparent reason. HELP!!!! The lack of sleep is affecting me and my family. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
