Our breeder has her Yorkies microchipped before they go to their new homes. It was one of the many features that attracted us to her. We knew for our puppy's safety and well-being we would want her micro-chipped.
Ours does not have a fee associated with it. Our papers at the time of the purchase had her chip number on it and when we went for our wellness check at our vet, the chip was checked and the records were verified. I expected no less since that chip may save our puppy's life should she ever wander away.
Taffy's insurance also gives a percentage discount because she is micro-chipped. This was not something we sought but it is a nice added benefit of having her micro-chipped. |
