I researched several plans before I decided on PetPlan for our Yorkie.

I really like that I can decide the level of coverage and the amount of deductible, etc.

Plus, I like the fact that they don't drop the pet after 7 or 8 years. I would caution you to look for that in your research since Yorkies generally live longer than other breeds.

Also, although I felt very comfortable in knowing our breeder and our dog's lineage, I still had read horror story after horror story on here about the medical issues that Yorkies (and other toy breeds) seem to incur most often. Be sure that any policy you choose does not exclude the very conditions you need covered for peace of mind.

I cannot testify to you about the actual implementation of the policy since (thankfully) we have not used it. I did like the interaction with their people in my research and purchase.

Pet insurance is something I hope I pay for and never use but the realization that it will not be finances that force a decision on Taffy's care is what I primarily purchased.
