What the dishonest breeder does is has some that are registered. They acquire puppies elsewhere, either bought cheap unregistered, bred unregistered ones themselves, or bred crosses.
They will then register a litter saying a certain femaile they had was the dam of the litter and they use a registration name and number often for a male they had. They may no longer even have the mother or the sire quoted on the litter application. Sometimes they are ones spay/neuter in a pet home but never transferred ownership.
Sometimes they will add a pup or two to a current litter born.
I find it so sad that people stoop that low. There are so many unsuspecting people out there that become victims to people like that.
