All 3 of mine arw chipped. My pebbles is about 4lbs or so. yes I can feel it under her skin. It doesn't bother her at all. I don't know how to steer you with this one. I don't know if I would do it again to them. I just recently changed vets and I brought 2 of mine there (different days different problem)anyway they only asked if they were chipped but never checked to see if they were really mine. I also had to bring trixie to the hospital and they didn't care either. So what is the sense of having it if no one checks it. You also have to pay a fee each year to keep them registered. I don't know what I would do ifI had to do over again. It would be nice to hear other opinions. Good luck with the surgery. Poor baby. Hope all goes well and she has a speedy recovery.
