Well, my Maddy is 6.5 pounds and I have the Large Luxe Bag for her. Is your baby long?? I think you would be ok with the smaller size.
Just a personal note, the handle on the Luxe looks much more high-end than the regular Alex. Who/where are you planning to buy from?
