If 20 of us all pitched in 10 bucks he could be there pretty fast, Im in Wisconsin so Im of no help however I have made the Treck from here to Arlington and it took 18 hours..
Id be willing to donate if there was a paypal account set up to cover expences...heck if there is extra money in the account that would help with his first checkup at the vets and perhaps a few fun items the child could pick out like a collar and a leash and some fun bowls....plus it makes us all feel good to help.
