I would do the drip the vet knows best when it comes to surgery in her care and with being neutered it is the best. I had my little girls teeth pulled because they were taking forever to fall out and it gave her bad breath even with brushing and taking care of them. they put her under with gas but she was only having her teeth done. I would just do the whole shebang get it over with. he will hardly notice they pulled them. it wont add to the pain from being getting neutered.
