I am sort of new to this forum, and have mainly only posted pics. But your post really struck a chord in me bc I will soon have to be making that very painful decision for our Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. She was badly abused when we got her and through a whole lot of tlc loved her through her insecurities, frae, and misunderstanding about us of the human kind. She has now been with us for 10 years and is 11 years old. Bc her abusers broke her hip one night while beating her with a brush and never had it treated correctly she suffers horribly from arthitis in her back end. In the summers she fairs very well, but the hard Illinois winters are getting to be more than she can handle. So sadly she will probably be leaving us this year and her 2 kitty friends that lived with us for many years at the Rainbow Bridge.

My heart goes out to you, as I still can't fathom making the call to set up the appointment...let alone actually doing it. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
