The health depends on breeding/genetics. Other issues that affect little ones are accidents. Environment is just as important as health. As suggested, jumping, being stepped on by a human or large dog, and ingesting even a small amount of the wrong thing can be fatal. Remember that little ones go down faster than any large/larger dog - regardless of age.

Please read all you can on the things that can happen or things that can harm them. Prevention is the best medicine.
