I have to agree. 10 hours is too long in a crate. I do just that. Have a neighbor or family member come over and play and feed them. I usually block them off in the kitchen area as the doggy door is off the laundry room ( which is part of the kitchen) I have only gone away twice for a few days, but that seems to work. They have their toys, and beds, and mine are spoiled. I leave the tv on for them.
