We have had the same ads here on YorkieTalk for many months, we have not added any new ads. We do not have any popup ads or popunder ads of any sort, and we have always tried to keep the ads as minimally invasive as possible, which is why you do not see ads in the middle of posts or within posts if you are a registered member here.
There are times that YorkieTalk does run slower than normal. This is usually during peak hours. Usually that is due to the sheer number of members online at once, it would generally not be ad-related at all. You may want to check your computer for viruses and spyware if you experience odd slowdowns or popup ads.
As YorkieTalk is a completely free site for members, we rely on ads to keep our community alive. Without ads, this site would not be possible at all. There are a lot of costs associated with running a community this large. We have always strived to be a free resource for all Yorkie owners and potential Yorkie parents which we hope to continue. While members are free to use adblockers if they would like, please note that the ads are what allows YorkieTalk to be a vibrant community for everyone.
