I've never had issues with collars or ever heard of many issues with collars.
I think it's worth it to have a collar with tags on at all times (except for maybe bed time).
If Jackson slips out my door and wasn't wearing a collar... I'd be very upset. He is microchipped as well.
Get the pup a break-away cat collar!
They're very lightweight and if it were to get caught, they break away.
