We live near Lancaster, PA home of horrible puppy mills. I'm terrified to even begin looking for breeders in my area. I want to know for sure we are buying a forever member of our family that is healthy and comes from healthy parents. If I'm going to be spending a lot for a Yorkie I also want to make sure they are well socialized.

We would like to visit the breeder, the parents (or mom) and the pups before making a forever choice on taking a pup home. We don't mind driving to find a good breeder.

We are even considering adopting an older Yorkie but I have noticed a lot of adoptive homes will not adopt to homes with children under the age of 10. Our youngest is 7.

This is one of the only breeds my husband can tolerate allergy wise. So a mixed Yorkie breed is out of the question for our family.
