I used a baby onesie for Bailey after she got spayed - and it was wonderful. I went to a second hand kids store & found a onesie for 25 cents & it was well worth it!! It made me feel so much better knowing that she couldn't bite or lick her wound. She actually removed almost all of her stitches on her own before the vet recommended that I try the onesie. Contrary to what someone else said they did in a post here, I put the onesie on Bailey so the front of the onesie went on Bailey's tummy side, arm holes went through her front legs, and then I snapped what normally goes around the baby's butt around each back leg of Bailey, leaving one snap un-snapped for the tail to pop through. It stayed on pretty well, although once in a while it would start to come off half way. I only had her wear it in her crate when I wasn't available to watch her. Bailey did pee in her crate with it on a couple of times, but she developed a UTI (urinary tract infection) which is probably why that happened. Overall, it is a GREAT idea to have from the moment you take her home so she can't get to the wound. Don't be afraid to call your vet if your girl exhibits stange behavoir after her spay, as my pup had a UTI and needed additional pain meds & antibiotics after her surgery. Hope everything goes smoothly for you & your girl!!
