As a rule I dont keep Missy's collar on in the house. I use a harness on her with her tags on her collar. I have a fear it will get caught on something. I have a completely fenced in yard. Two weeks ago she saw something on my front lawn and somehow went under the gate after it. It was the worst experience of my life. I got in my car, crying while driving and drove the way I usally walk her, with no luck whatsoever. I have heard stories from people who have gone through similar situations but could not have imagined how I would feel. Even though she is microchipped my fear is someone picking her up and not even checking to see if she had a chip and just deciding to keep an adorable yorkie. Well about a half hour later she came walking up the front steps. I was so happy that she came back but it was a terrible experience. |
