My vet has Roxie's file and she's gone there ever since I got her at 10 weeks. The vet knows she's mine because of records they keep. I can see if someone walks into a vet with a dog they've never had there before or are new to that vet, then the vet should check to see if it's chipped or registered to the person bringing it in. From what I understand not all vets have a chip reader which they should. Hubby is making Roxie a tracker with led lights on it so that if for any reason she gets lost or stolen we can start tracking her right away.
Before my daughter had a tracker and tags for her dog she took permanent marker and wrote the info right onto the collar.
We don't do collars in the house, only when we're going someplace. She gets excited to put on her collar and harness. She'll bring it to me out of the blue sometimes. I guess that means she wants to go somewhere.
