Yup, you have to ask but if the vet said give Ammodium, then you could try that. I just don't think that it is good to cover things up for too long with the pumpkin because it isn't curing the problem. It is certainly better than letting her have running stool but the problem needs to be fixed. Ellie had gotten loose stools (no vomiting) last October and to this day we are still dealing with it and have to be very careful.
Something like Giardia is easily missed when testing, so sometimes metro or dewormers are used as a precaution. Then there is the good ole Tylan powder that is sometimes used for IBDish issues.
Oh and pumpkin can have the opposite affect and cause runny stool. It can be difficult to regulate with it.
