I have NEVER heard of a dog, with a tail, having back problems due to having a full tail.
Think of all of the different breeds that have tails...how is a Yorkie any different? I am truly not trying to be rude, but would love to know who told you this. You do realize that their tail is light...no more heavy for them to carry around than their heads holding their ears up.
